October 26th, 2011Directly from Barcelona to Camiguin ….: Juan & Laia. Despite jetlag the two 0f them immediately registered for the Open Water Diver course at Camiguin Action Geckos. On the first day the two arrived at the resort at 11.00am and at 2:00pm they were already at the introductory dive. And 4 days later: PADI Open Water Diver. Nice that you were here with us. We wish you a lot of fun dives!

Together with Wolfgang Dafert, Freedive Instructor – Freediving Philippines, 2 Beginner Courses (Advanced Course on request) will be organized.

Open Water Diver & Intro Dive: Deniz und Alicia
September 30th, 20114 days Camiguin, 4 days diving. Both came to relax some days at Camiguin Action Geckos and “only” wanted to make an Intro Dive.
Deniz was addicted from the very first moment….. from then on there was only: diving, diving and… diving. In the meantime Alicia enjoyed the calm and took it easy…. well done.

September 29th, 2011Elke & Johann spend around 2 weeks in September at Camiguin Action Geckos. And if there is one thing that the two of them are NOT: Couch Potatoes. Definitely not!
We can hardly remember a day where Elke & Johann spend some cosy hours in the hammock. Hibok-Hibok, Waterfalltrekking, Mantigue Island, hot & cold springs, Volcano Station, White Island – everything was worth exploring. And just “en passant” they made 10 dives – each. We hope you don’t need holidays from holidays now

All beer or what?

Now Melanie, Jeannett, Jan & Roy took the challenge and already pre-booked a nice beer package in advance. But not enough with this…. they even arrived with a special t-shirt. What to say? The exact amount of the consumed SMB’s will stay – for now – a secret. But we can already say this: you have to drink a lot to be fit to hold a beer… ehmm… candle to.

PS: No, there are no Chocolate Hills in Camiguin. No, the picture is not a photomontage. Beside some pictures from Camiguin Sabine & Susanne have send us the one from the Chocolate Hills in Bohol as well. The Chocolate Hills can be best admired from the air. With good weather the flight from Cebu to Camiguin (or vice versa) can be performed directly above the natural wonders of our neighbor island. The dimensions (50km2) of the conical hills are incredibly impressive from above. Contact us for sightseeing and/or direct flights from Cebu to Camiguin.

August 5th, 2011Claus and Mads have been already in 2010 on Camiguin, “by accident”. They stayed for 2 weeks at Camiguin Action Geckos and then spontaneously decided to learn to dive with us. They so much liked the island that again in 2011 they came all the way from Denmark to stay with us again and lodged in the Cottage 1.
It was a highlight again for us to have you here. We had lots of fun and have really enjoyed your company! We hope to see you in 2012 to welcome you for a third time on Camiguin. Vi ses!

Since before yesterday Lorena also owns a PADI Open Water Diver certificate. Unfortunately she could escape and did not follow the subpoena for our official photo shoot. So she just send us an innocent vacation picture – but appearances are deceptive.

Actually he only planned some “holidays” with his family here.
It turned out differently: Jan first made his Open Water Diver enthusiastically at Camiguin Action Geckos. But even before the last dive he has been interested already in the Advanced Open Water Course, and at the end of this course he also registered for the Rescue Diver. A real natural talent – calm, relaxed and with much enthusiasm for diving! A great performance, dear Jan. We’ll see you next year for the divemaster, right?
It was big fun for us all to accompany your diving education.

PADI Open Water Diver Marielle
July 10th, 2011She came, saw and dived …. Marielle arrived with her family on Monday, 4th July at 1.00pm, short lunch at the resort and check in, because at 3.00pm she was already swimming and snorkeling. In the evening chapter 1 & 2 of the diving theory, on July 5th in the morning theory third part, extensive pool session, followed by a quick island tour with her family. On Wednesday, the second round in the pool, followed by Open Water Dives 1 & 2, Chapter 4 & 5 of the theory was almost a dessert. On July 6th Open Water Dives 3 & 4 and the final exam for lunch, ferry at 2:00pm to Balingoan. No free minutes for the aspiring student of Marine Biology, now proud owner of the Padi Open Water Diver certification. Well done, Marielle, and have a good rest now .
Switzerland meets Camiguin Hummer Adventure
July 3rd, 2011Family visit at Camiguin Action Geckos ….. Christine, Patrick & Ramona have taken the effort of the trip and spent about 14 days with us.
Besides a lot of relaxing, massage, asian spiced european food there was a special island tour on the program as well. Our neighbor René together with Irene is offering custom tours with his Filipino-Hummer. From Kabila White Beach to PhiVolcs, Katibawasan Falls or Bura Soda Springs – anything is possible … Camiguin somehow different- by Hummer. More information on the tour HERE.

June 28th, 2011Astrid was acouple of time here already. The german Internist was working for the German Doctors in Mindanao for some weeks. In betwenn and afterwards she was visiting us together with her friend Wolfgang.

June 5th, 2011In May we reported record revenues in our Bar…… especially by serving San Miguel Beer and Tanduay Rum Cola. Why?
It’s simple: Karin, Reini, Anita, Dietmar, Thomas, Yvonne, Harry, Birgit, Stefan and Liza were with us. And some of them stayed up to 2 weeks at Camiguin Action Geckos.
We are happy for two reasons: 1st because of the above-mentioned reason, 2nd even more because it was just a great fun to have you as our guests. Even the night guard is missing you …. .

June 4th, 2011Middle of May we rare picture in front of our beach when we woke up: A beautiful sailboat was moored just in front.
Sal & John from Australia, on the seas in Asia since 2006 are actually in the Philippines and stayed about 10 days in Camiguin.
They came scuba diving with us, made some adventure tours on the island, even made the freediving course with Wolfgang Dafert and enjoyed the dinner here at Camiguin Action Geckos.
And – as all sailors – continued their trip direction Leyte. So back to the usual bancas in front of our resort.
Sal & John… we wish you more save and exciting adventures on board of your “Jaraman”.

Ladies & Gentlemen…: Rescue Diver Bori
May 18th, 2011Bori and Simon have been our guests in December 2010 already. Bori is completely passionate about diving and made – under , let’s say, hard conditions – her PADI Advanced Open Water Diver at Camiguin Action Geckos.
Now she find her way and can call herself officially PADI Rescue Diver. But not enough with this: right now she’s doing her Divemaster Course here with us. If you would like to take the chance to have a dive with her or a course, write us…. Bori, you are really unique. Go for it, work hard and have a lot of exercise. There’s a lot to do, you can do it .

May 11th, 2011Again Sonja from ChARTs Resort has recommended us….. This time she send Karin & Reini. They spend nearly 2 weeks with us AND they qualified to empty our bar.
But before they – pretty seriously – made the PADI Open Water Diver Course with our Instructor Wing. To have a drink on this afterwards is absolutely OK. Right? We think as well!

Big Fish Encounter with Natalie & Jarek
May 8th, 2011Natalie and Jarek spend about two weeks at Camiguin Action Geckos in April. They where diving Camiguin, but island sightseeing and climbing the volcano was on the program as well. They probably will not forget so fast their dive at Catarman . Just back on the boat giving their equipment to the crew, as these excitedly pointed into the water …. Just none of the boys could express themselves as it is so rare – at least in our local waters: WHALE SHARK! Together with Peter and Carola and our Dive Instructor Wing they could snorkel with the baby whale shark (5m length) for some minutes. They had to choose: snorkeling or photo shoot …. Understandably our guests have chosen the former, so we had to find a picture on Google (Copyright: haz.de).

April 25th, 2011Today, Monday, are starting the first regular flights to Camiguin since almost 3 years. The test flight last week the Airport was suspiciously empty …… this will hopefully change soon.
We are really delighted to be accessible again by plane. 5 times a week, Cebu – Camiguin, 2 of them via Tagbilaran. We wish the crew of MidSeaExpress a lot of success and always good and safe flights.

A Perfect Day…. 3rd Edition: Mantigue Island
April 22nd, 2011With a boat full of divers and snorkelers we went out this week to Mantigue Island, including great sunshine and calm seas. Our boat was so packed, that in addition to the “Lady Julia” we even had to add the “Dylan” …
An absolute perfect day but ….. well. Those who where there knows what we are talking about . But as so often… all’s well that ends well. Many thanks to Andrea, Nathan, Natalie, Claudia, Ierene, Ariane, Dirk, Jarek, Roli, Alex, René, Jethro. We hope you enjoyed the trip. The perfect day – Martina & Thomas
April 21st, 2011Not just for Verena & Stefan April 16th was THE day. For our repeater guests Martina & Thomas as well last Saturday was unique.

Verena & Stefan – THE PROPOSAL
April 18th, 2011Premiere at Camiguin Action Geckos…. !!!
After the hint given by Sonja Schlenther, owner of the ChARTs Resort on Panglao, Stefan wrote us an email.
At the end of their trip through the Philippines he wanted, after 8 years of relationship, make a proposal to his Verena. For that he asked us to digg deeply into the “Romantic Box”.
And THAT’S what we did:
Verena was first surprised by an exclusive “Sightseeing-Flight”, organized by Aviatour, which nearly is established as the House-Airline of Camiguin Action Geckos. The pilot reduced his altitude above White Island and brought his Cessna in position, so that the prepared message in the sand could be read by Verena. With this kind of proposal Verena had to say “Yes”.
Overly happy after that flight they continued by boat to White Island for a romantic sunset with Picnic & Champagne and obviously to enjoy the “Marry Me”-Message made of Bamboo a bit closer.
They finished this perfect day with a Tete-a-Tete Candle Light Dinner here at the beach. Sure enough there was a Proposal Cake…. EA beautiful and memorable action for all involved!
We are pretty proud, dear Verena, dear Stefan, that we could organize this for you. Us as well we will not forget this day so fast. We wish you all the best for your future. And: let us know when you will be back. You can hire us as a “Wedding Planner” as well….
